Text Box: MINT CITY SHOOT-OUT RULES AND REGULATIONS

TEAM REGISTRATION:
Teams need to check-in at their court prior to their first game and every game thereafter. Do not check in at main bracket table. Every player must sign-in with the Buster at the assigned court. Signatures will be verified. Players should be prepared to provide proof of age to Tournament Officials.

RULES:
“Court Marshals” will be calling all fouls on the courts except High School courts and other courts to be determined.
All games will have a 30-minute time limit. Each court will have its own timer.
All games use a continuous clock.
Teams must be on the court and ready to play at the designated time. (5 minute grace)
Games may start with or be completed with Three players or less on the court.
In the event of inclement weather or if games are running behind schedule, it is the team’s responsibility to obtain accurate scheduling information about their next game.
Each team is allowed (1) one-minute timeout per game. However, no time outs will be allowed in the last two minutes of play.
A coin flip by the court marshal will determine which team gets the ball to start each game.
On courts 8th grade and under, and courts H, I and O, and other courts to be determined, court marshals will be calling all fouls and violations. On all other courts, fouls and violations will be called by the players and must be called immediately by the player fouled (no free throws are awarded on these courts unless a flagrant or technical foul is called).
Jump ball/tie up – the ball goes to the team not last in possession (defensive team).
The basketball must be taken outside the take-back line (both feet behind the line) on each change of possession.
There will be no dunking or hanging on rims. Violations may result in technical fouls or possible ejection from the game (or upcoming game if during warm-ups).
Any open wounds must be covered before a player is permitted to return to a game. There will be a first aid station near the concession stand.
In case of obvious error (when teams disagree) on courts where the players are calling their own violations, the court marshal may make the call or change the call at his/her discretion.
The court marshal may call a technical foul for flagrant or intentional fouls. A free throw will be awarded to the player fouled, and whether made or not, the fouled team will then get possession of the ball. Technical fouls are worth 1 point.
A free throw is awarded to the fouled player on and after the 7th team foul (Bonus). All free throws are dead balls. No free throws, except technical fouls, are awarded until the 7th team foul. If a free throw is made, possession goes to the defensive team. If the free throw is missed, the offensive team retains possession
If the offensive player is fouled in the act of shooting and the shot goes in, the basket is awarded.
